Online Safety

We are very passionate at Flourish Federation about keeping children safe online. Every child is taught all about the dangers that exist online and how to deal with issues of e-Safety when they occur.

We teach children these skills through a variety of different lessons which can include Collective Worship times, PSHE, circle times and through Anti-Bullying Weeks and so on. Every year group is taught an e-Safety unit in Computing lessons where they are taught about important issues, such as keeping passwords secure, not sharing personal information on-line and not to communicate with strangers on social network sites or email. They are also taught about cyber-bullying and respectful behaviour online. Being in a post-lockdown era, where the country saw a rise in the number of young people going online, we find it necessary to tackle issues that arise within a class and sometimes alter our Computing curriculum to accommodate this.
